Ms. Barnes' Class Recital Videos


Here is the video of the Poems and Letters the 2nd and 3rd graders read on May 22, 2009.

It was recorded in 16 x 9 aspect ratio. If it looks too skinny, change your player's settings to 16x9.

To get the video, read the instructions on this page and then save the three files found here:

They are called VIDEO_TS.IFO    VTS_01_0.IFO   and   VTS_01_1.VOB
The .IFO files are tiny but the .VOB is almost a gigabyte, so it will take a few hours to download, depending on your connection speed.
Note that this is an FTP address, not an http address. FTP works in Internet Explorer, no need to fret.
You will be asked for a logon ID and password. Use what I emailed to you. If you didn't get an email from me, please ask me for it. sparkle@cyberdoor.com
Once you've logged on, click on one of the files. You should get a dialogue box asking you to open or save the file. SAVE IT! Make a unique directory for the 3 files so they don't get over-written by other video files with the same names, like the ones below...
If it starts to try to run the file instead of letting you save it, cancel and try right-clicking then "save target as"...

Once the files are on your hard drive, double-click the VIDEO_TS.IFO file to play the video. The .VOB file is a standard MPEG file, so it should play. The .IFO file tells the player/viewer details about the recording and gets it to play in the correct aspect ratio. If you just run the .VBO file everyone will be tall and skinny, which might be nice for some of us! :)

It happened to be "Dress like your favorite character day" so they are all dressed up :)

Be very careful when copying because the May 07 files have the same names as the May 09 files! Renaming the files makes them not play (at least in my viewer). I'll have to re-author them some day.
